The Great Escape

The Iranian Shariah, the Islamic legal code, derived from the Koran, says that in the case of adultery both partners are subject to stoning but men are buried up to their waists, while women are buried up to their necks during the stoning. But the Law also provides that if the person manages to escape during the stoning, they are allowed to go free - and guess which sex has the better chance of breaking loose (Chicago Tribune, Aug. 22, 2002).
