A man wanted to have his family tree
traced, and asked a professional genealogist how much it
would cost. "That depends on how far back you go and how
tough it is to search the records. It might be several
hundred dollars or several thousands.
"That seems like a lot," the man said.
"Is there a cheaper way to trace my past?"
"Well," replied the genealogist, "the
cheapest way is to run for public office."
